The term "thiel truth" stems from an interview question used by Peter Thiel in Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future The question was:

What important truth do very few people agree with you on?

Hence a thiel truth is one where there is a line of reasoning that results in a particular axiom or truth being shown to be true, but which is either not an obvious path to that conclusion, or which depends upon definitions that may be different than those used by many people or facts that are not commonly known.
